About the Artist

Helen creates intricate artwork using pressed flora, with a focus on ferns, wildflowers, and seaweed. She often works with plants commonly seen as weeds, drawn to their quiet familiarity and the stories they carry. Most of the materials she uses are grown in her own garden, carefully harvested to support regrowth and local wildlife.

When foraging, she follows ethical practices, collecting only small amounts from abundant species with minimal environmental impact. Her seaweed pieces are made using washed-up or loose specimens, always gathered responsibly and with permission. Her work gives natural materials a new narrative, preserving their beauty in delicate, thoughtful compositions.
