C.F.A. Voysey (1857–1941) was a leading figure of the Arts & Crafts Movement, known for his architecture and decorative designs in wallpaper, textiles, furniture, and more. His signature style features stylized, nature-inspired patterns—especially birds, which he often simplified into bold, rhythmic forms.
One of his more detailed bird designs was created for the British government’s Central Control Board, Liquor Traffic, during World War I. These images, hand-coloured by Voysey himself, were intended to decorate pubs and canteens, promoting more wholesome environments for wartime workers.
