The Tree of Enchantment Collection is Kitras’ signature creation. With colourful trunks that enchantingly sprout from the bottom and branch out to colourful canopies of glass leaves, the pieces in this collection will spark feelings of wonder and awe in all who experience their glory.
Like trees in a forest, no two are alike and each tree has its own special sentiment story for its individual theme.
“We are the gardeners of our lives and we tend to our gardens like grateful gardeners - fulfilled in the hard work of the past, sharing in the abundance and contemplating with excitement what will be next. And as we share our time, harvests and gifts with those around us we find a wholeness and sense of belonging that allows us to walk with others in kindness, gratitude and love. The season of Autumn is a desire for abundance, community and a celebration of where we have been, where we are and where we are going. The Tree of Autumn shows us that it is best when our efforts are shared and nurtured in community.”
“At first it may seem that trees do not have adventures, as they have solid roots and tend to stay in one place forever. However, living is an adventure and one that is worth pursuing to the fullest. Living a life of adventure can mean daring feats in faraway places or it can mean starting out on an unknown path, feeling a mix of apprehension and excitement, but nonetheless taking the first step. This is what the start of an adventure looks like and this is the foundation of life. The Tree of Adventure reminds us to always live life to the fullest and stay in pursuit of adventure.”
“A tree lives in harmony with the surrounding forest welcoming birds, insects and other life to live. Trees also help to keep a balance in the air that we breathe. When we are in harmony with our surroundings, we have a confident calm and are able to welcome others into our lives in new and unexpected ways. The Tree of Harmony reminds us to look for and strive to achieve a balance in our outer and inner worlds, so, like the tree, we can relax into the harmony of life.”
“Delight in the vibrant mix of life's simple pleasures. Joy starts with an inkling of something greater, of being connected to life’s greatest forces and being totally aligned with all of the good. Joy is what allows us to pursue our greatest dreams and passions and then share the joy of those gifts and talents with others. Like a tree bursting into life after a long winter, joy starts slow and then it cannot be contained. The Tree of Joy reminds us that when we use our gifts and talents to be our truest self, we cultivate joy within ourselves. We are then able to share that joy with all we meet, helping to create communities and a world that is more joyful.”
“We are the gardeners of our lives and we tend to our lives like careful gardeners - sowing seeds of hope, plowing new rows ahead with courage, cultivating relationships and having faith that our efforts will reflect our plans. And as trees stretch and the flowers bloom, an awakening unfolds and our gardens and lives begin to reflect all the possibilities of our new starts, that we began in earnest so long ago. The season of Spring is a desire for beauty, warmth and love in our lives and in the world around us. The Tree of Spring shows us that what we start with hope, will blossom and expand with love.”
“We are the gardeners of our lives and we tend to our lives like joyful gardeners - delighting in the shapes, sizes and colours of the flowers, feeling the hum of the insects and being present to life happening all around. And as we soak in the long days and the soft light - we find a way of being in our gardens and lives that allows us to treasure every seed, scent, bloom and friendship for what they are right now, in this moment. The season of Summer is a desire for happiness, intention and connection within our hearts and with those we love. The Tree of Summer shows us that when we are present to the moment, we can open our hearts fully and be content.”
“Wisdom is a powerful instrument we use to navigate the twists and turns in the journey of life. It takes years of trial and error to gain the wisdom to make solid and sensible decisions. Just as a tree trunk gets stronger year after year, our wisdom grows to help us find solutions to life's dilemmas. The Tree of Wisdom reminds us that we have the innate wisdom to solve each of life's puzzles and to use that wisdom with confidence and strength.”
“Sister can mean the one who was born into your immediate family or the ‘sister’ who is your closest friend. Sometimes that friend is even closer to your heart than your family member. In any case, sisters are the ones that nurture you, support you, laugh and grow with you and protect you at all cost from harm. Other people come and go in your life, but the bond of a sister is never broken. The Tree of Sisters reminds us to cherish all of our sisters and celebrate their importance in our lives.”
Check the hanging medium of your Kitras bell regularly, as natural materials like rope and twine can weather over time. For longer lifespan, hang the bell in a sheltered spot; if exposed to rain or snow, the rope will eventually need replacing. You can find replacements at most hardware or craft stores.
Introduce your bell to the outdoors in spring or early summer to avoid stress fractures from temperature changes. Once acclimated, it can stay outside year-round.
To clean, gently wipe the glass with a damp cloth to restore its shine when it loses brilliance.
Kitras Art Glass is a Canadian company founded in 1988, driven by the belief that unique, sentiment-filled glass art pieces enrich homes, relationships, and communities. As makers and storytellers, they celebrate the wonder of everyday moments and the magic of handmade craftsmanship—where quality, beauty, and unexpected surprises come together.
Now Canada's largest hot glass studio, Kitras creates handcrafted gifts and décor that celebrate life’s beautiful moments. With a talented team in Fergus, Ontario, each piece is designed, crafted, and shipped from their studio to shops, museums, and garden centers across North America.
Kitras continually strives to improve its process, creating art for today while looking toward the future. Their inspiration comes from both the ordinary and the exciting. Through their craft, they’ve built a community of customers who welcome their stories into their homes and lives.
At Kitras Art Glass, the process begins when experienced glassblowers gather molten glass from their 2,000 to 2,200°C (3,632 to 3,992°F) furnace. This honey-like substance serves as the foundation for every piece they create.
Kitras Art Glass is passionate about color, using only the highest quality colored glass. To apply color, the molten glass is rolled through frit (colored glass) patterns, fusing the color into the clear glass. This process creates a vibrant, lasting piece that will never fade.
Skilled glassblowers then shape the glass using various techniques. While each piece follows a specific color recipe, the individual craftsmanship and the fluidity of hot glass make every item unique.
After completion, the piece is carefully cooled at a controlled rate in lehr and annealer boxes. The quality control team inspects each product to ensure it meets the highest standards before it reaches customers. Every piece is crafted to be enjoyed and cherished.
