Dee Hardwicke is a British artist, designer, and knitter whose work is deeply rooted in the Arts & Crafts tradition. Inspired by the changing British landscape and cottage gardens, she creates joyful, practical designs across a range of media, including knitwear, ceramics, flooring, and stationery, for partners such as the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, the National Trust, and Museums & Galleries.
Trained in fine art and apprenticed with Quaker potters in the Welsh Marches, Dee begins each project in her sketchbook, capturing seasonal details from the natural world around her studio in the Black Mountains. Her sketch-based motifs often evolve into vibrant colourwork for knitting, which she teaches in workshops held at iconic venues across the UK and beyond.
Dee is the author of several books, including The Knitted Fabric (Laine Publishing) and A Story in Yarn, which celebrate the connection between creativity, craft, and nature.
