About the Artist

Helen Ahpornsiri is a UK-based artist and illustrator renowned for her intricate, mosaic-like depictions of wildlife created entirely from 100% real pressed botanicals. Using responsibly foraged ferns, wildflowers, and marine algae, she preserves her materials in their natural colors—without the use of paints or dyes—before delicately cutting and layering them to form detailed creatures such as birds, mammals, and insects. A graduate of the University of the West of England, her work explores themes of conservation and the "new narrative" found in unassuming weeds. She has gained international acclaim through her books, A Year in the Wild and Beneath the Waves, as well as collaborations with global brands like Anthropologie.
